A Distinguished Academic Achievement
The Syrian American Academic Society (SAAS) congratulates Dr. Mohammad Hassan Al-Mikdash, Vice President of the Association, on his promotion to the rank of Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, effective June 1, 2026.
This achievement marks an important academic milestone in his scientific career, as Baylor College of Medicine is considered one of the most prestigious medical and academic institutions in the United States and worldwide.
It is also noteworthy that Dr. Mohammad Al-Mikdash previously worked at NASA, making him one of the few Syrians who had the opportunity to work at this globally renowned scientific institution — an accomplishment that reflects the scientific excellence and academic distinction of Syrian professionals abroad.
Achieving the rank of Associate Professor is regarded as one of the most significant milestones in the American academic system, as it represents recognition of outstanding scientific, research, and teaching accomplishments.
