The Syrian American Academic Society (SAAS) congratulates Dr. Mohammad Hassan Al-Mikdash, Vice President of the Association, on his promotion to the rank of Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, effective June 1, 2026.

The Syrian American Academics Society (SAAS) congratulates Dr. Reem Heikal, Professor of Law at Texas Southern University, on a series of prestigious academic achievements that reflect her scientific and academic excellence, as well as her prominent presence in leading educational institutions worldwide.

Dr. Sami Sbei, Ph.D.

An academic and researcher specializing in biomedical sciences, Dr. Sbei is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Washington University in St. Louis, where he focuses on studying somatosensory disorders, with particular emphasis on chronic pain and chronic itch. His work aims to better understand the underlying neural mechanisms and opioid receptors involved in these complex conditions.
