The Syrian American Academic Society (SAAS) is a registered non-profit organization in the United States. It includes Syrian scholars and academics residing in North America and works to promote their scientific and developmental roles and expand their impact within Syria.

Dr. Alaaeddin Alsbaiee
President of the Society
Dr. Aladdin is a chemist and nanotechnology scientist. He has numerous scientific publications in prestigious journals and holds more than 60 patents worldwide. He manages research and development laboratories at the global company BASF. He has received several major American awards for various innovations in chemical and environmental fields.
Dr. Mhd Hasan Almekdash
VP of the Society
Dr. Mohammad is a biostatistics professor at Baylor College of Medicine and a former NASA advisor. He holds a PhD in quantitative methods and has led data initiatives for U.S. federal agencies, focusing on big data and spatial analysis.
Dr. Ahmed Katsha
Founding Member
Dr. Ahmed combines a strong scientific background, deep teaching experience, and a modern vision for education in the age of AI, making him a model interdisciplinary researcher serving both science and society.
Dr. Tarek Kandakji
Founding Member
Dr. Tarek is an expert in the use of remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) at the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt) at Baylor College of Medicine.
